Private support of Louisiana State University is led by three independent foundations, each with its own board of directors, staff, and unique mission. In addition, many academic units of the university have volunteer development councils and “friends” groups who focus on the specific priorities of the units.
LSU Alumni Association
JOE CARVALHIDO, President & CEO
The LSU Alumni Association is the official home for lifelong connections for graduates, friends, and supporters of Louisiana State University. As an integral part of the LSU family, the Association exists to engage Tigers across every stage of life—helping you stay connected, grow professionally and socially, and give back to the university and each other. From career resources and networking opportunities to meaningful events, travel, and exclusive alumni benefits, the Association creates a vibrant community of “Tigers helping Tigers” that strengthens the bond between LSU and its global alumni network.
Our vision emphasizes a connected, active LSU alumni community—locally, nationally, and globally—that supports one another and champions LSU’s mission and legacy. We are expanding this vision to foster deeper engagement, stronger connections, and more opportunities for Tigers everywhere, with our LSU Alumni Chapters and LSU Young Alumni Council playing key roles in shaping initiatives that engage the next generation of alumni.
The association is expanding student-to-alumni programming through strategic on-campus partnerships and new initiatives that build lifelong affinity beginning on a student’s first day at LSU. These efforts are designed to strengthen early engagement, create meaningful connections with alumni, and prepare students for sustained involvement beyond graduation. Signature programs such as the LSU Collegiate Club and the Recent Grad Hub connect students to fan experiences, peer and alumni networks, and post-graduate resources—establishing a stronger foundation for lifelong engagement with LSU.
LSU alumni chapters are the heart and soul of the LSU Alumni Association. Dedicated alumni and friends of the university volunteer their time to bring purple and gold worldwide. LSU alumni chapters help LSU graduates stay connected, network, and support the university. To find a chapter near you visit www.lsualumni.org/chapters.
With a national footprint of more than 250,000 living alumni, the potential for connection has never been greater. LSUTigerNation.com is designed to help alumni, students, businesses, and friends of LSU stay connected long after graduation. The platform offers a powerful suite of tools and opportunities; alumni and business directories make it easier to find fellow Tigers by industry, location, graduate year, or career interest. Alumni can build their professional network, connect with mentors or mentees, and access a community eager to help Tigers succeed. The site continues to expand as a hub for networking and mentorship; for career development and job opportunities; and for community engagement, professional development, chapters, events, and more.
We are deepening partnerships within the LSU Tiger Nation Business Network while expanding nationwide networking opportunities through Networking on the Geaux events that connect alumni across regions and industries. These partnerships strengthen LSU’s presence in regional and national markets while creating meaningful career pipelines for students and graduates.
We are also innovating and growing LSU Traveling Tigers experiences by introducing new global destinations, enhanced programming, and more engaging opportunities that connect alumni to LSU and each other around the world.
Through intentional engagement, we are continuing to build a culture of Tigers helping Tigers, Tigers hiring Tigers, and supporting Tiger-owned businesses.

Tiger Athletic Foundation (TAF) is a private, nonprofit corporation. TAF’s mission is “to assist Louisiana State University in building and maintaining a superior athletic program by providing private financial support for programs and facilities that ensure LSU student-athletes the opportunity to win in the classroom, in competition, and in life.”
Among TAF’s many accomplishments are over $500 million in construction and improvement of athletic facilities including over $289 million for college football’s greatest venue, Tiger Stadium. Other facility projects include the LSU Football Operations Center, LSU Athletics Performance Nutrition Center, LSU Baseball Marucci Performance Center, University Club Golf Course and Practice Facility, Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes, Mike the Tiger’s Habitat, LSU Tennis Complex and LSU Gymnastics Training Facility. TAF’s primary mission in supporting LSU Athletics is to ensure that each student-athlete has the opportunity to be a student first, and in doing so obtain an education that will ensure their success in life. To accomplish this goal, TAF has created a non-endowed annual scholarship fund as well as two endowed scholarship programs so that all tiger fans – regardless of means – have the opportunity to play a part in ensuring that every current and future student-athlete has the opportunity to earn an LSU degree. TAF has also provided in excess of $4.3 million in academic scholarships and teaching awards to the University. TAF members are dedicated to supporting LSU, LSU Athletics, and LSU student-athletes.
