BE 4340 Food and Bioprocess Engineering (3) Prereq.: BE 2352 ; credit or registration in BE 3340 . 2 hrs. lecture; 3 hrs. lab. Design and analysis of systems for processing biological materials, with emphasis on food; topics include biotechnology, fluid flow, thermodynamics and transport phenomena in food and bioprocessing; unit operations, including freezing, extraction, drying and aseptic processing.
