LAW 5813 - Advanced Appellate Advocacy Seminar

Advanced instruction in briefing and arguing Louisiana and federal appeals, using actual briefs and sound recordings of United States Supreme Court arguments. Historic arguments and the lives of noted appellate advocates are featured as exemplary, e.g., Thurgood Marshall and John W. Davis. Students in the seminar brief and argue actual cases pending in state and federal appellate courts, against counsel in preparation for their arguments. Louisiana and federal appellate counsel and judges are guest instructors in the seminar. LAW 5609  (Advanced Appellate Advocacy) is a prerequisite to enrollment.
