LAW 5782 - European and Comparative Health Law

This course will provide an introduction to select aspects of health law in Europe from a comparative point of view. The course will cover the evolution of European health care policies and national health care systems; the regulation of medical technologies in the EU; the rights of patients in Europe; medical errors, and their prevention; tort law, contract law and the litigation of medical malpractice claims in Europe; health care claims and alternative dispute resolution systems in select European jurisdictions. The course will satisfy the DCL requirement
