CHE 4425 Colloids and Interfacial Engineering (3) Prereq.: a grade of “C” or better in CHE 2172 or equivalent. Focuses on the fundamentals of colloids and interfacial engineering, including: interactions between surfaces, particles, surfactants, and biomolecules; the theory of colloidal characterization by scattering methods and their manipulation by external fields; and the introduction of colloidal-based technologies such as soft robotics, micropatterning, bioarrays, and nanostructured multi-responsive material.
