LAW 5204 - Sale, Lease, and Advanced Obligations

Sales and Real Estate Transactions This course provides in-depth coverage of Louisiana’s law of sales and leases, as well as some coverage of other nominate contracts in the Civil Code, including mandate, deposit, and loan. The course builds upon the general principles of the law of Obligations in General and Conventional Obligations developed in the first-year Obligations course with the aim of promoting mastery of Louisiana Obligations law. Students study the relevant portions of the Louisiana Civil Code and Revised Statutes, the jurisprudence and other secondary sources interpreting the law, and, when appropriate, the civil law and/or common law predecessors and analogues to Louisiana law.
