MATH 2035 Mathematical Foundations of Data Science (3) Prereq.: Credit or registration in MATH 1552 or MATH 1553 . Mathematical tools underpinning machine learning applications; properties of Euclidean space, elementary topology, and convex sets and functions. This is a bridge course in writing rigorous proofs. It is designed for students to start thinking about mathematical concepts beyond calculus that are used in modern applications of Data Science, such as, for example, convex analysis and optimization.
