Structural and physiological basis of skeletal muscle contraction; sliding filament theory, calcium regulation of contraction; neuromuscular junction/excitation coupling; muscle witch, summation and tetanus; isotonic and isometric contractions; energy requirements for muscle contraction; neural regulation of muscle contraction, tone, and reflex. Provides and opportunity for students to understand the physiological basis of medical practice on skeletal muscle-related diseases.
