LAW 5323 - Comparative Constitutional Law

This course approaches Comparative Constitutional law from a qualitative and foundational perspective. The course takes the U.S. Constitution as the point of reference for comparisons to several other jurisdictions and gives structural matters more attention than matters immediately concerning rights. The topics to be analyzed will include the natural law foundations of comparative constitutionalism, federalism, judicial review, and the restriction of property rights during emergencies.
