LAW 5747 - Alternative Dispute Resolution

Study of various methods and procedures for resolving conflicts and the role of the lawyer in each process. Principal alternatives to trial to be examined are negotiation, mediation and arbitration. Also consideration of minitrials and summary jury trials to resolve complex litigation. Focus will be primarily on private law disputes, including consumer, commercial, family and tort controversies.
