The MS program is designed to provide the training necessary for careers in government and business where original research generally is not the primary concern. Students must complete 36 hours of coursework, of which a minor of 6-9 hours outside of Economics can be chosen with permission of the Graduate Director. Students must take a minimum of 27 hours of 7000-level courses and only 6 hours of 4000-level courses can be taken. Prior to entering the program, students should have completed undergraduate courses in calculus, statistics, and intermediate macroeconomics and microeconomics.
