Prereq.: admission to the MFA program. 2 hrs. lecture; 2 hrs. lab. Getting to know your vocal instrument; release & relaxation; basic articulatory work; vocal hygiene; resonation work using techniques from Chuck Jones, Kristin Linklater & Patsy Rodenburg; introduction to Fitzmaurice destructuring explorations; textual discoveries via contemporary monologue work.
