EDCI 4625 Student Teaching in the Elementary Grades 1 (12)

Prereq.: Successful passage of Praxis II Elementary Content and Praxis II Principles of Learning and Teaching. Internship in diverse multicultural settings. Successful completion of Field Experience Professional Practice courses: EDCI 2273 ; EDCI 3003 ; EDCI 3124 ; EDCI 3125 ; EDCI 3127 ; EDCI 3137 ; EDCI 3200 . The student teaching year is scheduled as an all-day, all-week experience. EDCI 4625 is the fall semester and is a prerequisite to EDCI 4626. All day, all semester student teaching experiences, including observation, participation and a minimum of 180 actual clock hours of teaching (with a substantial portion of the 180 hrs. in full-day teaching) each semester, fall and spring, under the professional supervision of an assigned public school mentor teacher. The Office of Professional Experiences assigns mentors based on field work placements in all EDCI pre-requisite field experience courses.
