Students work individually and in groups to understand and document the form and function of existing products and their components; methods to discern and defend design choices using modern tools and standards; visualization and communication of engineering design concepts; introduction to engineering drafting conventions and manufacturing tolerances; freehand sketching and use of computer aided design software for communication.
