What is General Business?

General Business allows students to build a curriculum around courses offered through the many academic disciplines that comprise the E. J. Ourso College of Business. This curriculum allows students considerable flexibility to turn their passion into their degree by allowing them to select classes that will help them achieve their personal career goals.

BS in General Business

The Bachelor of Science with a General Business major is a 120-hour degree program. Learning objectives for students will vary, depending on the particular courses they select to complete. All students will gain valuable insight and basic knowledge in key areas of accounting, economics, finance, information systems & decision sciences, management, and marketing. To qualify for a Bachelor of Science with a General Business major, a candidate must complete 30 hours of junior and senior level business courses that include courses from at least four different academic disciplines within the E. J. Ourso College of Business.  These courses may also be applied toward one or more minors offered through the college: analytics, energy, entrepreneurship, information technology management, internal audit, and international business.
