The school-level academic course plan for each student will be developed in consultation with and approved by the student’s graduate advisor and support from their exam committee. Collectively, the committee will include the student’s major advisor and at least two additional members of the graduate faculty such that the LSU Graduate School’s requirements for graduate committees are satisfied.
The degree and concentration require a dissertation. Seventy-seven hours of credit at the graduate level must be earned, including a minimum of nine hours of credit for the dissertation.
The curricular requirements include:
- At least 26 hours of Research and Statistics (e.g., KIN 4900 , KIN 7505 , KIN 7574 , KIN 7900 , KIN 8900 , etc.)
- At least 15 hours of Professional Core Courses (i.e., KIN 7511 , KIN 7516 , KIN 7518 , KIN 7519 , KIN 7524 , and KIN 7545 )
- At least 15 hours for a Cognate Area
- At least 12 hours for Sport Management Electives
- Passing a general/qualifying exam consisting of a written exam and a comprehensive oral exam.
- Successful completion and defense of the dissertation.
