Agriculture Teacher Certification (6-12)
The concentration in Agriculture Teacher Certification (6-12) allow students with a bachelor’s degree in an agriculturally related field to learn and refine pedagogical knowledge and skills and earn initial teacher certification to teach agriculture at the secondary level (i.e., grades 6-12). This non-thesis degree requires 36 semester hours of graduate work, at least half of the course work must be at or above the 7000 level. To meet certification requirements from the Louisiana Department of Education, students will complete a year-long residency that, at minimum, is equivalent to 60% full-time in the fall semester and 80% time in the spring semester. Students will work in collaboration with their graduate committee to complete a non-thesis, creative component project.
