Critical Requirements

Semester 1: “C” or better in MUTH 1000 .
Semester 2: Pass departmental voice, guitar, and piano skills assessment.
Semester 3: “C” or  better MUTH 2000 .
Semester 4: “B” or better in MUTH 2100  and MUTH 2200 . Junior Standing.
Semester 5: “B” or better in MUTH 3100  and MUTH 3150 .
Semester 6: “B” or better in MUTH 3200  and MUTH 3250 , Senior Standing.
Semester 7: “B” or better in MUTH 3300  and MUTH 3350 .
Semester 8: “B” or better in MUTH 3400  and MUTH 4250 , Internship Standing.

¹- For Gen. Ed. Natural Sciences, both physical and life sciences must be taken: 6 hours in a physical/life sciences sequence and 2 hours lab credit associated with the sequence chosen; 3 hours in an area (physical/life) not previously selected. 

²- Students whose primary instrument is a piano will not be required to take MUS 1130 , MUS 1131 , MUS 1132 , and MUS 1133 . They will be required to take MUS 3334  and MUS 3335  in order to learn functional piano skills. Piano primary students will need 127 credit hours for the Bachelor of Music Therapy.  

³- Students whose primary instrument is voice will not be required to take MUS 2300 . Voice primary students will need 127 credit hours for the Bachelor of Music Therapy.

⁴- Students whose primary instrument is guitar will not be required to take MUS 2300 . Guitar primary students will need 127 credit hours for the Bachelor of Music Therapy.
