Prereq.: CHE 2176 and CHE 3102 ; or equivalent. Mathematical descriptions of systems encountered in chemical engineering developed from basic principles; lumped parameter systems, distributed parameter systems, formulation of ordinary and partial differential equations, continuous and discrete analogs and matrix formulations; models developed for systems ranging from simple elements to plant-scale.
